- Australia’s total of 245 for five exceeds the previous record chase of 244 scored by India against the West Indies in 2016.
- Guptill also became international T20’s highest run-scorer after making 105 off 54 balls. During his innings, Guptill overtook McCullum’s mark ot 2140 to be the highest run-scorer in the history of T20 Internationals. He has 2188 career runs.
- Guptill’s 49-ball century was also New Zealand’s fastest T20 ton.
- Australia’s score is the highest winning total in the second innings of not just T20 international cricket, but all 20-over cricket including the domestic level.
