What: Electricity to all villages

- As per the Central Government, all villages in the country have now access to electricity.
- Leisang village in Senapati district of Manipur was the last village brought on the national power grid on April 28, 2018.
- According to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 28th April will be remembered as a historic day in the development journey of the nation as the government fulfilled a commitment due to which the lives of several Indians will be transformed forever.
- The PM said that the Leisang like thousands of other villages across the country, has been powered and the news will make every Indian proud and delighted.
- The Prime Minister had made a promise from the ramparts of the Red Fort on 15th August, 2015, to supply power to all unelectrified villages. The government has achieved the milestone 12 days before the deadline.
