Desis bobmarleyi-a new water spider named after Bob Marley

-A water adapted species of spiders, discovered in Australia in 2009, is named after Jamaican reggae legend Bob Marley.

-It was discovered in 2009 in the sea along the coastline of Queensland in Australia.

-According to the Evolutionary Systematics journal, this  species have adapted to the underwater life by hiding in barnacle shells, corals or kelp holdfast during high tide.

-Researchers associated the emergence of the  spiders with Marley’s song ‘High Tide or Low Tide’ and listed the new species under the scientific name of Desis bobmarleyi.
