India-South Africa Test Series 2018

South Africa won the three test match series played against India by 2-1. The three test match series were played between 5-28 January at three South African locations. India won the last test match by 63 runs. Indian captain Virat Kohli was the highest (286) run scorer in the series. Vernon Philander of South Africa was judged ‘Man of the Series’.   1. First Test Match (5-9 January at Cap Town): South Africa won by 72 runs and Vernon Philander (SA) was judged ‘Man of the match.’ Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah made his Test debut in this match. Wriddhiman Saha became the first wicket-keeper of India to take 10 catches in a single Test.
  2. Second Test Match (13-17 January, Centurion): South Africa won by 135 runs and South African bowler Lung Ngidi was judged ‘Man of the match’. Cheteshwar Pujara became the first batsman for India to be run out in both innings of a Test.
  3. Third Test Match (24-28 January, Johannesburg): India won by 63 runs and Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar was given ‘Man of the match’ trophy. Indian skipper Virat Kohli became the leading run-scorer as captain of India in Tests (3,456).
