- The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on January 19, 2019 dedicated L& T Armoured Systems Complex in Hazira to the nation. He also visited the Complex and showed keen interest in the innovative spirit behind the project.
- It is the first private facility in the country where the K9 Vajra self-propelled Howitzer guns will be manufactured.
- The Indian Army inducted two howitzers including the Larsen and Toubro (L&T) built K9 Vajra after a gap of three decades.
- With a range of 38 km, K9 Vajra is built by L&T in collaboration with a South Korean firm.
- L& T has set up the Armoured Systems Complex at Hazira, around 30km from Surat, to manufacture and integrate advanced armoured platforms
