10th National Ayurveda Day & DRAVYA Portal:

The Ministry of Ayush on 23rd September celebrated the 10th National Ayurveda Day celebrations at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa.

  • On 23 September, the Ministry of Ayush inaugurated “Prayas”, an Integrated Neuro-Rehabilitation Centre at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa.
  • The centre is among the first-of-its-kind in India, combining Ayurveda, Physiotherapy, Yoga, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and modern Paediatrics under one roof.
  • It aims to provide holistic neuro-rehabilitation, with a special focus on children with neurological and developmental conditions.
  • Theme of Ayurveda Day 2025
    • The theme was “Ayurveda for People & Planet.”
  • New Initiatives Launched
    • Desh ka Swasthya Parikshan: A nationwide health assessment campaign.
    • DRAVYA Portal:
      • Stands for Digitized Retrieval Application for Versatile Yardstick of AYUSH Substances.
      • Serves as the largest collection of data on Ayurvedic ingredients and products, made digitally accessible for practitioners, researchers, and the public.
  • Background of Ayurveda Day
    • Earlier celebrated on Dhanteras, honouring Lord Dhanwantari, the physician of the gods.
    • Since the date varied every year due to the lunar calendar, the Government of India fixed 23 September as Ayurveda Day annually starting 2025.
