11th edition of the India International Science Festival (IISF)

The 11th edition of the India International Science Festival (IISF) was inaugurated by Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh on 7th December 2025 in Panchkula, Haryana. The four-day event runs from 6th to 9th December.

  • Festival Vision:
    IISF is designed as an open, public-facing festival focused on “Celebration, Communication and Career,” rather than a traditional scientific conference. It serves as a platform to unite scientists, research institutions, and the public beneficiaries of science.
  • Theme for 2025:
    The festival theme is “Vigyan se Samruddhi: Towards an Atmanirbhar Bharat,” highlighting science’s role in India’s self-reliance and prosperity.
  • Collaborating Organizations:
    IISF 2025 is jointly organized by key government bodies including:
    • Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES)
    • Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)
    • Department of Science and Technology (DST)
    • Department of Biotechnology (DBT)
    • Department of Space
    • Department of Atomic Energy (DAE)
      Along with the Government of Haryana and Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA).
  • Significance:
    Since its inception in 2015, IISF has become one of India’s largest events promoting scientific temper and enhancing public engagement in science. It aims to showcase India’s emerging global leadership in science and technology while encouraging research, innovation, and talent development nationwide.
