150th edition of the Shree Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan

The 150th edition of the Shree Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan, the oldest Hindustani classical music festival in the country, commenced at the historic Shree Devi Talab Temple in Jalandhar, Punjab.

About the Festival
The three-day annual cultural event is a landmark in India’s classical music tradition and has been nurturing generations of eminent musicians for over a century. It continues to serve as a major platform for the promotion and preservation of Hindustani classical music.

Organisers and Support
The festival is being organised in collaboration with the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala, under the Union Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The event is also supported by the Punjab state government.

Dedication and Tribute
This year’s Sammelan is dedicated to:

  • The 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, and
  • Pandit Chhannu Lal Mishra, the legendary Banaras Gharana vocalist, who passed away in October 2025.
