NIELIT Digital University (NDU) platform

The Union Minister for Electronics and IT inaugurated the NIELIT Digital University (NDU) platform in New Delhi, marking a significant step toward democratizing access to high-quality digital education in India.

Industry-Focused Learning in Emerging Technologies
The NDU platform (ndu.digital) has been developed to provide flexible, employment-oriented learning opportunities in niche areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Semiconductors, and Cloud Computing. It offers virtual labs and digital learning modes to equip India’s youth with future-ready skills.

Expansion of NIELIT Network
On the occasion, the Minister also virtually inaugurated five new NIELIT Centres at:

• Muzaffarpur (Bihar)
• Balasore (Odisha)
• Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh)
• Daman (Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu)
• Lunglei (Mizoram)

Vision of NIELIT Digital University
The platform aims to create a world-class, inclusive, affordable, and employment-oriented digital learning ecosystem, aligned with the goals of Digital India, NEP 2020, and Skill India. It also seeks to build a globally competitive workforce in critical emerging technologies.

Institutional Recognition
The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous scientific society under the Union Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), has been granted the status of “Deemed to be University” under the distinct category by the Ministry of Education. Its main campus is located at Ropar, Punjab.
