The 10th Session of the Asian and Pacific Centre for Development of Disaster Information Management (APDIM) on Inclusive Disaster Risk Data Governance took place at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

  • India’s delegation led by MoS: The Indian delegation was headed by Shri Nityanand Rai, Minister of State for Home Affairs and Disaster Management.
  • India reaffirms commitment: India reiterated its commitment to collaborating with APDIM and regional partners to reduce disaster and climate risks across the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Guided by PM’s 10-Point Agenda: India highlighted that its cooperation with UN ESCAP, APDIM, and other multilateral mechanisms is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 10-Point Agenda for Disaster Risk Reduction, which stresses:
    • Strengthening local-level investments
    • Leveraging technology
    • Building networks among disaster risk experts and institutions
  • Governing Council discussions: The session included detailed discussions on:
    • Review of APDIM’s activities from the previous year
    • Planned activities for 2026
    • Finalisation of the Strategic Work Plan 2026–2030.
