Amaravati Quantum Valley

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on February 7 laid the foundation stone for the country’s first Quantum Technology Valley at Uddandarayunipalem village in Thullur mandal, located in the Amaravati capital region.

Envisioned on the lines of Silicon Valley, which spearheaded the global IT revolution, the Amaravati Quantum Valley aims to emerge as a world-class hub comparable to leading global quantum centres such as Boston, Singapore, and Shanghai. The project is being positioned as a major milestone in India’s journey towards leadership in advanced and emerging technologies.

Prominent technology and infrastructure firms, including IBM, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Larsen & Toubro (L&T), are playing a crucial role in establishing India’s first 133-qubit quantum computer at the facility.

The Quantum Valley is expected to function as a comprehensive ecosystem for research, innovation, manufacturing, and skill development. It will focus on critical and futuristic domains such as quantum computing, quantum communications, quantum sensors, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, defence, healthcare, and finance.
