ANRF Launches ‘SARAL’ AI Tool to Simplify Scientific Research Communication

In a major step toward democratizing access to scientific knowledge, the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) — India’s newest science funding agency — has developed an AI-powered tool called SARAL (Simplified and Automated Research Amplification and Learning).

AI for Accessible Science Communication

The SARAL platform is designed to generate easy-to-understand summaries of complex scientific research.
Using Artificial Intelligence (AI), SARAL will extract key insights from research publications and create videos, podcasts, posters, and presentations tailored for the general public.

This initiative aims to bridge the gap between scientific communities and society, enhancing public understanding of cutting-edge research.

ANRF’s Vision and Focus Areas

The ANRF has been established to strengthen India’s research and innovation ecosystem, with a focus on:

  • Harnessing deep science and engineering to create deep tech products and start-ups,
  • Promoting interdisciplinary collaboration across academia, industry, and government, and
  • Enhancing research visibility and accessibility through digital tools like SARAL.
