Ashtalakshmi Darshan Youth Exchange Programme Inauguration

Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, virtually interacted with the first batch of students participating in the Ashtalakshmi Darshan Youth Exchange Programme.

🔹 Key Highlights of the Programme

  • First Batch Composition: 39 students – 19 from Goa and 20 from Uttarakhand.
  • Host University: Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh.
  • Mode of Interaction: Virtual interaction by Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia.

🔹 Organizers and Funding

  • Organized and funded by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) and the North Eastern Council (NEC).
  • The programme is aligned with the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” initiative, aimed at fostering national integration and cultural appreciation.

🔹 Objectives

  • Strengthen youth-to-youth connect across regions.
  • Promote inter-regional understanding and cultural exchange.
  • Encourage students to experience life and culture in the North Eastern States.

🔹 Scope of the Programme

  • Total Students: 1,280 students
  • Batches: 40 batches
  • Participating States/UTs: 28
  • Activities: Students visit and experience all North Eastern States, promoting exposure to local culture, traditions, and community life.

🔹 Significance

  • Enhances national integration and cultural harmony.
  • Provides youth with first-hand experience of the North East, fostering respect for diversity.
  • Supports long-term goals of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat by building enduring inter-state youth connections.
