Bhargavastra

Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL) has successfully developed and tested a new low-cost Counter-Drone System in Hard Kill mode, named ‘Bhargavastra’.

  • The system represents a major leap in countering the rising threat of drone swarms. The system’s micro rockets underwent three rigorous trials on May 13 at the Seaward Firing Range in Gopalpur.
  • Designed as a unified solution to tackle unmanned aerial threats, Bhargavastra features a two-layered approach:
  • The first layer uses unguided micro rockets, each with a lethal radius of 20 meters, designed to neutralize swarms of drones at a range of up to 2.5 kilometers.
  • The second layer employs a guided micro-missile, previously tested successfully, to offer pinpoint accuracy against individual aerial threats.
  • SDAL’s Bhargavastra offers an affordable, scalable, and potent solution for drone neutralization, poised to enhance India’s defensive capabilities in the face of evolving aerial threats.
