Centre Revises Commission Rates for Arthiyas and cooperative Societies

The Government of India has approved a revision in commission rates payable to Arthiyas (commission agents) and cooperative societies engaged in procurement of wheat and paddy on behalf of the government. The revised rates will come into effect from the Rabi Marketing Season (RMS) 2026–27.

Background

Under the existing procurement framework, commissions are paid to Arthiyas, cooperative societies, sub-agents, and other intermediaries who facilitate procurement operations by providing aggregation and logistical support to government agencies.

Key Highlights of Revision

1. Commission for Arthiyas:

  • Wheat (Punjab & Haryana): Increased from ₹46.00 to ₹50.75 per quintal
  • Wheat (Rajasthan): Increased from ₹41.40 to ₹45.67 per quintal
  • Paddy: Increased from ₹45.88 to ₹50.61 per quintal

2. Commission for Cooperative Societies:

  • Wheat: Increased from ₹27.00 to ₹29.79 per quintal
  • Paddy: Increased from ₹32.00 to ₹35.30 per quintal

3. Procurement at Modern Silos:

  • Commission will be 50% of mandi rates, in line with existing policy guidelines
