DBT Launches ‘SUJVIKA’ AI-Driven Biotech Product Data Portal on 40th Foundation Day

Marking the 40th Foundation Day of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology launched “SUJVIKA”, an AI-driven Biotech Product Data Portal.

The portal has been developed in collaboration with industry partner Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE). SUJVIKA is designed as a Trade Statistics Digital Intelligence Platform that provides authenticated biotechnology product import data in a structured and user-friendly format.

The platform offers sector-wise insights into biochemical products, industrial enzymes, and other biotechnology imports. It enables researchers, startups, and industry stakeholders to identify high-value and high-volume imports, assess import dependency, and prioritise indigenisation and research and development (R&D) efforts.

Officials stated that SUJVIKA will support evidence-based policy planning and foster stronger public–private partnerships to enhance domestic biomanufacturing capabilities, thereby contributing to India’s self-reliance in the biotechnology sector.
