DRDO Conducts Successful Salvo Launch of Pralay Missile

The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully carried out a salvo launch of two Pralay missiles in quick succession from the same launcher on 31 December 2025, off the coast of Odisha. The test was conducted from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island.

Second Successful Trial in Six Months
This marks the second such test within six months. Earlier, DRDO had conducted two consecutive successful flight-tests of the Pralay missile on July 28 and July 29, 2025, demonstrating the system’s reliability and rapid-launch capability.

About the Pralay Missile
Pralay is an indigenously developed, solid-propellant, quasi-ballistic missile equipped with advanced guidance and navigation systems, ensuring high accuracy. The missile is capable of carrying multiple types of warheads and is designed to engage a variety of targets.

Indigenous Development Effort
The missile has been developed by Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad, in collaboration with other DRDO laboratories, underscoring India’s growing capabilities in precision strike and indigenous missile technologies.
