Dulhasti Stage-II Hydro Electric Project

The Government of India has stated that the acquisition of private land for the Dulhasti Stage-II Hydro Electric Project is being carried out under the provisions of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

Project Details

• Dulhasti Stage-II HEP is a planned 260 MW run-of-the-river hydroelectric project.
• It will be located on the Chenab River in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Existing Dulhasti Power Station

• The existing Dulhasti Power Station has an installed capacity of 390 MW.
• It has been developed by NHPC Limited.
• The project was financed through equity as well as loans/market borrowings.

Significance

• The Stage-II expansion aims to enhance hydropower generation capacity in the Chenab basin.
• It will contribute to clean energy generation and regional power supply in northern India.
