Ease of Doing Business: Kerala retains best performer tag

  • Kerala has retained its position as the ‘Best Performer’ in the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) rankings under the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP) + Reduction of Compliance Burden framework.
  • Industries Minister P. Rajeeve received the award in the ‘Fast Movers’ category from Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal.
  • In the previous year, Kerala had topped in:
    • 2 categories of business-centric reforms, and
    • 7 categories of citizen-centric reforms.
  • The State achieved a remarkable improvement, implementing 99.92% of reforms this year compared to 91% last year.
  • Rajasthan was ranked as the ‘Top Achiever’ in the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP) 2024, released by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ease of Doing Business initiative.

  • Nodal agency: Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
  • Objective: To assess states and UTs based on implementation of business reforms to improve the business environment and reduce regulatory compliance burden.

    • Access to information
