Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) Programme,

Union Minister of State for Science & Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh highlighted the growing popularity of the Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) Programme, calling it a key driver in reshaping India’s biotechnology innovation landscape.

  • Speaking at the 3rd Annual General Meeting of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC) in New Delhi, he noted that the EIR initiative is nurturing a new generation of scientist-entrepreneurs who blend academic excellence with market-oriented, problem-solving research.
  • The EIR programme aims to bridge the gap between research and enterprise, and has seen strong participation from the private sector and venture capital investors, accelerating technology translation and startup creation from India’s public R&D ecosystem.
