Frontier 50 Initiative

NITI Aayog on 15 September launched two key initiatives—AI for Viksit Bharat Roadmap: Opportunity for Accelerated Economic Growth and the NITI Frontier Tech Repository—under its Frontier Tech Hub. Both aim to harness advanced technologies for inclusive growth and innovation.

AI for Viksit Bharat Roadmap
The roadmap presents a practical action plan to translate AI’s potential into tangible outcomes. It identifies two major levers:

• Accelerating adoption of AI across industries to boost productivity and efficiency.
• Transforming R&D with generative AI to enable India to leapfrog into innovation-driven opportunities.

Frontier 50 Initiative
Under the Frontier 50 Initiative, NITI Aayog will support 50 Aspirational Districts and Blocks in selecting use cases from the Frontier Tech Repository. These will be deployed to accelerate service saturation across the Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP) and Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP) themes.

NITI Frontier Tech Impact Awards
To encourage innovation-driven governance, NITI Aayog has also announced the Frontier Tech Impact Awards. These will recognise three states that excel in leveraging frontier technologies to improve governance, education, healthcare, livelihoods, and related sectors, with support to further scale transformative outcomes.
