Gaofen-3-03 mission

The China Aerospace Science Corporation (CASC) successfully launched an Earth observation satellite on their Long March 4C rocket.

• The Gaofen-3-03 mission launched from the Jiuquan Satellite launch center, in China, to a Sun-synchronous low-Earth orbit. This launch marked the 45th launch of a Gaofen satellite.

• The Gaofen constellation is a series of Chinese civilian Earth observation satellites. The constellation currently consists of just over 30 active satellites.

• The Gaofen-3-03 satellite is also equipped with a 3-axis stabilization which ensures that the satellites are always pointed towards the Earth. Due to this, an individual satellite is able to revisit every part of the Earth in under 4 days.
