About TIDE 2.0

  • Full Name: Technology Incubation and Development of Entrepreneurs 2.0 (TIDE 2.0).
  • Launched: 2019 by the Government of India.
  • Objective: Promote technology-based entrepreneurship by providing financial and technical support to incubators.

Implementation and Support

  • Operates through 51 selected incubators located in:
    • Institutes of Higher Learning
    • Premier R&D organizations across India.
  • Provides startups with:
    • Expertise and mentorship
    • Industry linkages
    • Ecosystem partnerships
  • Financial Outlay: ₹264.62 crore over 5 years.
  • Target Beneficiaries: Around 2,000 tech startups.

Achievements So Far

  • 1,706 startups supported under the scheme till now.
  • Many supported startups are progressing well, with some scaling globally.
  • Over 150 incubated startups have expanded to international markets.

Centres of Excellence in Intellectual Property Rights (CoE-IP)

  • Established under TIDE 2.0 to support:
    • Startups
    • SMEs
    • Academia
    • Inventors in the Electronics and IT domain
  • Services offered include:
    • IP-related services
    • Awareness creation
    • Training programs
  • CoE-IP centres adopt multiple revenue models, including equity exits, to ensure long-term sustainability.
