Historic Voter Turnout in Bihar Assembly Elections 2025

The Bihar Legislative Assembly elections concluded on 11 November 2025 with a record-breaking voter turnout of 67.13%, the highest ever in the State since 1951.

🔹 Voter Turnout Details

  • Male voters: 62.98%
  • Female voters: 71.78%
  • Election Phases:
    1. Phase 1 (6 November 2025): 121 constituencies across 18 districts – turnout 64.66% (highest ever for first phase).
    2. Phase 2 (11 November 2025): 122 constituencies covering Magadh, Mithilanchal, Seemanchal, Shahabad, and Tirhut regions.

🔹 Election Commission Initiatives

Since March 2025, the Election Commission of India (ECI) implemented 17 targeted initiatives for poll-bound Bihar, focusing on:

  • Voter convenience and awareness campaigns
  • Structured training of polling personnel
  • Technology-driven processes for efficient, transparent elections
  • Ensuring compliance with constitutional and legal frameworks
