ICG Conducts Coastal Security Exercise Sagar Kavach-02/25 Along Maharashtra–Goa Coast

The Indian Coast Guard conducted Coastal Security Exercise Sagar Kavach-02/25 from 19–20 November 2025 along the Maharashtra and Goa coastline.

  • The exercise showcased strong operational readiness and inter-agency coordination to counter maritime security threats, including those posed by Anti-National Elements (ANEs).

Massive Participation:

  • Over 6,000 personnel took part in the two-day drill.
  • More than 115 sea and air assets were deployed.
  • A wide range of central and state agencies, ports, and coastal authorities participated, reflecting a unified security approach.

Exercise Objectives:

  • To assess preparedness for dealing with coastal security contingencies and emergency situations.
  • To safeguard critical coastal assets and prevent potential attacks on vital coastal installations.
  • To further strengthen India’s multi-layered Coastal Security Network along the western coast.
