INAS 335 ‘The Ospreys’ – Commissioning of MH-60R Squadron

Why in News

  • INAS 335 ‘The Ospreys’ was commissioned on 17 December 2025 at INS Hansa, Goa.
  • It is the second Indian Naval Air Squadron to operate the MH-60R multi-role helicopters.

About MH-60R Helicopter

  • Type: All-weather, multi-mission, naval helicopter
  • Operational Capability:
    • Day & night operations
    • Suitable for blue-water and littoral missions

  • Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW)
  • Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW)
  • Search and Rescue (SAR)
  • Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC)
  • Vertical Replenishment (VERTREP)
