India launches anti-dumping probe into ethyl chloroformate imports from China

India on 17 March 2026 initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imports of ethyl chloroformate from China.

  • The probe has been launched by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) under the Union Ministry of Commerce.
  • The investigation follows a complaint filed by Paushak Limited.
  • The company alleged that imports from China are being sold at unfairly low (dumped) prices, causing material injury to domestic producers.
  • Paushak stated that it is India’s sole producer of ethyl chloroformate, accounting for the country’s entire domestic output.
  • The firm highlighted issues such as price suppression and declining profitability due to rising imports.
