India’s first-ever National Young Chef Competition (NYCC)

he Union Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), has launched India’s first-ever National Young Chef Competition (NYCC) in Chandigarh on August 6.

Key Details of the Competition:

  • Theme: The competition is themed ‘Celebrating Indian Culinary Heritage and Blending Tradition with Innovation.’
  • Objective: The NYCC aims to preserve and promote India’s diverse culinary heritage by encouraging young chefs to blend traditional flavors with modern techniques.
  • Collaboration: The six-month-long initiative is a joint effort between the PHDCCI, the Indian Federation of Culinary Associations (IFCA), and the Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC).
  • Launch Event: The inaugural event, held at the Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management in Chandigarh, was the North Zone round, where 11 premier hospitality institutes from northern states participated.
