India’s first integrated private satellite manufacturing plant

The foundation stone for India’s first integrated private satellite manufacturing plant was laid at Khoraj in Sanand, Gujarat, marking a major milestone in the country’s growing private space sector.

Electro-Optical Payload Factory of Azista Space
The ceremony for the Electro-Optical Payload Factory of Azista Space was held in the presence of Gujarat’s Science and Technology Minister. The facility, named ‘Palmnaro’, is envisioned as a premier hub for indigenous manufacturing of satellites and advanced optical payloads by the private sector.

Gujarat as an Emerging Space Technology Hub
Addressing the event, Science and Technology Minister Arjunbhai Modhwadia said that Gujarat is carrying forward the legacy of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, evolving into a new national centre for space technology. He highlighted that the project strengthens India’s commitment to Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).

Boost to Aerospace Ecosystem and Employment
Once operational, the high-tech Palmnaro plant is expected to significantly enhance India’s aerospace manufacturing ecosystem. The facility will also generate high-skilled technical employment in the region, contributing to industrial growth and innovation.
