India’s first Vistadome jungle safari train

The Uttar Pradesh government and Indian Railways have launched India’s first Vistadome jungle safari train—a panoramic journey through some of the country’s most biodiverse terrain.

  • Launched under the ‘One Destination, Three Forests’ initiative by the UP Eco-Tourism Board, the route links Dudhwa National Park, Katarniaghat, and Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary—three of the richest biodiversity zones in India.
  • The idea is to give travellers a seamless way to experience the wild heart of Uttar Pradesh, one forest at a time.
  • The tourist train features specially designed coaches with panoramic glass windows and a transparent rooftop, offering travellers unobstructed views of the natural surroundings.
  • The train will initially run only on weekends and will later be expanded to daily operations as interest among travellers grows.
  • The 107-kilometre forest route promises travellers an immersive four-hour and 25-minute experience through grasslands, wetlands, farmlands, and woodlands.
