Industrial Park Rating System (IPRS) 3.0

On the occasion of the decade-long celebrations of the Make in India initiative, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal launched the Industrial Park Rating System (IPRS) 3.0 in New Delhi.

Developed with ADB Support

The system has been developed by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) with technical support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to boost India’s industrial competitiveness and infrastructure.

Evolution of IPRS

  • 2018: Pilot phase introduced.
  • 2021: IPRS 2.0 launched with wider scope.
  • 2024: IPRS 3.0 introduced with new benchmarks.

Key Features of IPRS 3.0

The third edition expands the framework by including:

  • Sustainability and green infrastructure
  • Logistics connectivity
  • Digitalization
  • Skill linkages
  • Enhanced tenant feedback mechanisms

Rating Categories

Under IPRS 3.0, industrial parks across India will be benchmarked and categorized into three tiers:

  • Leaders
  • Challengers
  • Aspirers

Aim of the Initiative

The system seeks to strengthen India’s industrial ecosystem, provide transparent benchmarking for investors, and accelerate the growth of competitive, sustainable, and future-ready industrial parks.
