INS Anjadip formally commissioned into the Indian Navy

The fourth ship of the Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft project, INS Anjadip, was formally commissioned into the Indian Navy at an official ceremony held at the Chennai Port on Thursday.

Named After Historic Island

INS Anjadip is named after the historic island near Karwar, located off India’s western coast. The warship is part of a specialised fleet designed for anti-submarine warfare in shallow littoral waters.

Nicknamed a “Dolphin Hunter,” the vessel is built to detect and neutralise enemy submarines in coastal environments.
