INS Aravali Commissioned as Navy’s new base at Gurugram

The Indian Navy commissioned its latest naval base, INS Aravali, at Gurugram on September 12, 2025, marking a significant enhancement in its information and communication capabilities.

Embodying the Vision of MAHASAGAR

INS Aravali embodies the Prime Minister’s vision of MAHASAGAR — Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions. It will strengthen India’s role as the Preferred Security Partner in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).

Symbolism of the Aravali Name and Crest

Named after the steadfast Aravali Range, the base will provide support to command, control, and Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) operations. Its crest, featuring mountains and a rising sun, symbolizes vigilance, resilience, and the dawn of advanced technological capabilities.

Collaboration and Operational Readiness

Guided by the motto “Maritime Security through Collaboration”, INS Aravali will serve as a hub of technology and cooperation, linking platforms and partners across oceans. The base is expected to play a key role in enhancing operational readiness and maritime security.
