Madhya Pradesh gets approval for PM MITRA textile park project

Madhya Pradesh (MP) has received formal approval for the ₹2,100 crore PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park project.

  • The project has been sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Textiles and will be the first integrated textile park of its kind in India.
  • The PM MITRA Park will be located in Bhainsola village, Badnawar tehsil, in Dhar district. The location is strategically situated, approximately 110 km from Indore, 85 km from the Pithampur industrial cluster, and 50 km from the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway via Ratlam.

Project Details:

  • Size: 2,100 acres.
  • Facilities:
    • 20 MLD Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plant.
    • Solar-powered energy facility.
    • Plug-and-Play Built-To-Suit (BTS) units.
  • Expected to attract major investments and generate large-scale employment in the state.
  • This will be India’s first integrated textile park of its kind.

PM MITRA Scheme (National Overview)

Scheme Details:

  • Total 7 PM MITRA Parks approved across India.
  • Government Outlay: ₹4,445 crores over 7 years (up to 2027–28).
  • Objective: Build world-class infrastructure including Plug-and-Play facilities for textiles.

  • Tamil Nadu (Virudhunagar) – Greenfield
  • Telangana (Warangal) – Brownfield
  • Gujarat (Navsari) – Greenfield
  • Karnataka (Kalaburagi) – Greenfield
  • Madhya Pradesh (Dhar) – Greenfield
  • Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow) – Greenfield
  • Maharashtra (Amravati) – Brownfield

Implementation Mechanism:

  • Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) incorporated for all five Greenfield sites.
  • For Brownfield sites (Maharashtra and Telangana), existing implementation arrangements will continue.

Financial Assistance:

  • Development Capital Support (DCS):
    • Up to ₹500 crore for Greenfield parks (30% of project cost).
    • Up to ₹200 crore for Brownfield parks.
  • Competitive Incentive Support (CIS):
    • Up to ₹300 crore per park to encourage early setup of manufacturing units.
