MeitY Transfers Technology under AgriEnIcs Programme

The Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has announced the transfer of technology for several electronics and IT-based innovations developed under its national programme AgriEnIcs. The technologies aim to enhance cattle health monitoring, food quality detection, and environmental management through sensor-based systems.

Technologies Transferred

  1. Electronics & IT-based Dairy Solution
    • Enables real-time monitoring of cattle health and productivity using sensors and data analytics.
  2. Quality Detection Systems
    • Designed for assessing the quality of pulses, rice, and dry red chilli, ensuring transparency and safety in the food supply chain.
  3. Sensor-based Odour Monitoring System
    • A new solution for odour detection and analysis with potential applications in municipal solid waste (MSW) management, industrial monitoring, and environmental assessment.

About the AgriEnIcs Programme

  • AgriEnIcs is a national initiative by MeitY focusing on research, development, deployment, demonstration, and commercialization of electronics and IT-based technologies in the agriculture and environment sectors.
  • Implemented by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Kolkata, as the nodal agency.
  • The programme involves collaboration with academic institutions, R&D laboratories, and industries across India.

Impact and Objective

  • These technologies aim to:
    • Improve agricultural efficiency and sustainability through digital interventions.
    • Enhance environmental monitoring and waste management systems.
