Ministry of Panchayati Raj Launches ‘SabhaSaar’ AI Tool

The Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj launched SabhaSaar on 14 August 2025. SabhaSaar is an AI-enabled voice-to-text meeting summarisation tool.

• Designed to improve documentation, transparency and efficiency of Gram Sabha and Panchayat meetings.

Adoption Across States

• The tool has been made available to all States and Union Territories.
• Gram Panchayats are progressively adopting SabhaSaar for routine meetings.

Technology and Infrastructure

• SabhaSaar operates on AI and cloud infrastructure provisioned through the India AI Compute Portal.
• The portal functions under the India AI Mission of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

Data Governance and Security

• All data is processed within the Government framework.
• No data is shared with external third-party service providers.
• Ensures data sovereignty, privacy and security.

Role of India AI Mission

• The India AI Mission (MeitY) acts as the nodal agency.
• Responsible for:
  • Governance of the AI infrastructure.
  • Oversight of the data generated through SabhaSaar.
