MoSPI Launches PAIMANA Portal

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has operationalised a new web-based portal — PAIMANA (Project Assessment, Infrastructure Monitoring & Analytics for Nation-building) for the mandated monitoring of Central Sector Infrastructure Projects with a project cost of ₹150 crore and above. The portal replaces the earlier OCMS-2006 (Online Computerized Monitoring System).

‘One Data, One Entry’ Approach
In line with the government’s principle of “one data, one entry”, PAIMANA has been integrated with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT)’s Integrated Project Monitoring Portal (IPMP / IIG-PMG) through Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). This allows automatic data flow of information reported by Central Ministries and Departments on the IPMP.

Reduced Manual Data Entry
The integration has significantly reduced manual intervention, with around 60% of projects on PAIMANA being updated automatically. This has contributed to more standardised, efficient, and reliable monitoring of infrastructure projects across the Government of India.

Centralised National Repository
PAIMANA functions as a centralised national repository of major infrastructure projects. It enables web-based analytical reporting, improves data accuracy, and enhances operational efficiency in tracking project progress and resolving implementation bottlenecks.

Strengthening Infrastructure Governance
By leveraging digital integration and analytics, PAIMANA is expected to strengthen evidence-based decision-making, improve inter-ministerial coordination, and support timely completion of critical infrastructure projects, reinforcing the government’s broader push for digital governance and transparency.
