Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Moina 2.0 scheme

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched the Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Moina 2.0 scheme in Guwahati, a new initiative to boost girls’ enrollment in higher education. The scheme provides monthly financial assistance to female students to reduce school dropout rates and promote higher education.

Key Provisions of the Scheme

  • Eligibility: The scheme is open to girl students from all families, regardless of their economic status.
  • Target Group: It provides financial support to girls studying from the Higher Secondary (HS) to the Post-Graduate (PG) level in government and government-aided educational institutions.
  • Financial Assistance:
    • HS First-Year Students: will receive ₹10,000 for the year, distributed as ₹1,000 per month for 10 months.
    • Graduate-Level Students: will receive ₹12,500 for the year, distributed as ₹1,250 per month for 10 months.
    • PG-Level Students: will receive ₹25,000 for the year, distributed as ₹2,500 per month for 10 months.
  • Reach: Over 4 lakh girl students are expected to benefit from this scheme in the current financial year.
