NCB busts darknet drug network called ‘Team Kalki’

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has dismantled a pan-India drug distribution network operating on the darknet under the name “Team Kalki.”

  • The network had reportedly been active since January 2025.

Arrests

  • Two accused have been arrested:
    • Anurag Thakur
    • Vikas Rathi
  • According to the NCB, both individuals are habitual offenders previously arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act).

Drugs Seized
During the operation, authorities seized narcotics from 13 domestically intercepted parcels and two parcels originating from the Netherlands. The confiscated items include:

  • 2,338 LSD blotters
  • 160 MDMA (Ecstasy) pills weighing over 77 grams
  • 73.61 grams of charas (hashish)
  • 3.64 grams of amphetamine
  • 3.6 kilograms of liquid MDMA

Modus Operandi

  • The network used the darknet to distribute narcotics across India through parcel shipments.
  • International supply chains were involved, with drug consignments linked to overseas sources.
