NE-SPARKS program

The Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) virtually engaged with school students from the North Eastern states who visited ISRO Headquarters under the NE-SPARKS program. The initiative is a collaborative effort between MDoNER, NESAC-ISRO, and the eight North Eastern state governments.

NE-SPARKS—short for North East Students’ Programme for Awareness, Reach, and Knowledge on Space—is a flagship initiative aimed at introducing students from the region to ISRO’s advanced space technology. The program seeks to ignite interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) among young learners.

As part of the program, 800 meritorious science students (100 from each North Eastern state) are expected to visit premier ISRO centres in Bengaluru, gaining hands-on exposure to space science, research, and technology. This initiative reflects a focused effort to nurture scientific curiosity and talent among North Eastern youth.
