Operation Sankalp

The Indian-flagged crude oil tanker Jag Laadki has successfully docked at Mundra Port, reinforcing India’s energy supply chain amid rising tensions in West Asia.

The vessel arrived carrying approximately 80,886 metric tonnes of crude oil sourced from the United Arab Emirates and loaded at Fujairah Port. The tanker measures 274.19 metres in length with a beam of 50.04 metres and has a deadweight tonnage of around 164,716 tonnes.

MT Shivalik and MT Nanda Devi

Earlier, two Indian-flagged LPG carriers—MT Shivalik and MT Nanda Devi—safely transited through the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz, arriving in India on March 16 and 17. Together, they transported a combined 92,712 metric tonnes of LPG.

Operation Sankalp

To ensure the security of maritime trade routes, India continues to maintain a naval presence in the region under Operation Sankalp. The operation aims to safeguard key shipping lanes and protect Indian-flagged vessels amid evolving geopolitical challenges.
