PM Modi Hoists ‘Dharma Dhwaja’ Marking Completion of Ram Temple Construction

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 November hoisted the ‘Dharma Dhwaja’ atop the 191-feet ‘shikhar’ of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, marking the formal completion of the temple’s construction. The event took place during the Abhijit Muhurat on Vivah Panchami, considered auspicious and associated with Lord Ram and Goddess Sita.

• Saffron Flag Symbolises Lineage and Spiritual Heritage: The triangular saffron Dharma Dhwaja, measuring 11 ft × 22 ft, bears three symbols—Om; the Sun representing Lord Ram’s Suryavanshi lineage; and the Kovidara tree, associated with ancient plant hybridisation mentioned in scriptures.

• Flag Represents Victory of Truth and Dharma, Says PM: Prime Minister Modi said the Dharma Dhwaja would serve as a reminder that “victory belongs only to truth, not to falsehood,” and emphasised the primacy of karma and duty in life.

• Vision for an Inclusive and Compassionate Society: He added that the flag symbolises a collective resolve to build a society free of poverty, sadness, and helplessness.
