PM Modi Releases Commemorative Coin and Stamp for RSS Centenary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 1 October 2025 released a specially designed commemorative postage stamp and a silver coin to mark the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The release highlighted the organisation’s contribution to nation-building.

Special ₹100 Silver Coin

• The coin has a denomination of ₹100.
• It is made of pure silver.
• One side bears the Lion Capital of the Ashoka Pillar (National Emblem).
• The reverse side depicts Bharat Mata in Varada Mudra, accompanied by a lion and a Swayamsevak bowing in dedication before her.

First Depiction of Bharat Mata on Currency

This marks the first time in the history of Independent India that the image of Bharat Mata has been featured on a currency coin.

Symbolic Representation

• The reverse design also shows Bharat Mata with three Swayamsevaks saluting her.
• The imagery reflects the traditional pose seen in RSS functions, where cadres bow in devotion to Bharat Mata.
