• Originates from Ponduru village, located about 20 km from Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh.
• Renowned for its fine handspun yarn and traditional weaving techniques.
• Mahatma Gandhi had praised Ponduru Khadi nearly 100 years ago for its quality and craftsmanship.

Recent Recognition

• In 2020, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited Ponduru village and interacted with local Khadi artisans, highlighting its cultural and economic importance.
