Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation (PRAGATI)

The Prime Minister’s flagship platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation (PRAGATI) has achieved a major milestone with the successful conduct of its 50th meeting. Launched in 2015 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, PRAGATI has emerged as a key instrument for real-time monitoring and resolution of critical infrastructure projects and public grievances through direct Prime Ministerial oversight.

Cabinet Secretary Briefs Media on Outcomes
On 2 January, the Cabinet Secretary and senior departmental secretaries briefed the media on the outcomes of the PRAGATI mechanism chaired by the Prime Minister. The briefing highlighted the platform’s growing role in strengthening coordination, expediting decisions, and addressing long-pending bottlenecks in governance.

Structured Project and Issue Escalation Mechanism
The Cabinet Secretary underscored the structured Project and Issue Escalation Mechanism under the PRAGATI-led ecosystem. This framework enables systematic monitoring, escalation, and resolution of issues across ministries, departments, and State governments, ensuring accountability at every level.

Model of Cooperative Federalism
PRAGATI exemplifies cooperative federalism by bringing together the Centre, States, Union Ministries, and senior officials on a single digital platform. The integrated interface allows for seamless coordination and joint problem-solving on nationally significant projects.

Driving Faster Decisions and Accountability
Over the past decade, PRAGATI has helped accelerate decision-making, resolve issues delaying key infrastructure projects, and instil a strong culture of accountability within government systems.
