Project Kuiper

Amazon successfully launched the first 27 satellites for its Project Kuiper broadband constellation from Cape Canaveral, Florida, marking the start of a long-anticipated $10 billion initiative to provide global internet coverage.

The satellites, the first of a planned 3,236, were launched aboard an Atlas V rocket by United Launch Alliance.

Project Kuiper is Amazon’s ambitious rival to SpaceX’s Starlink, aiming to offer high-speed internet to underserved areas and compete with major telecom providers like AT&T and T-Mobile.

The launch had been delayed from an earlier attempt due to bad weather.
