Project Waterworth

Meta introduced its internet subsea cable Project Waterworth.

• The project will cross 50,000 km in length and bring enhanced connectivity to the U.S., India, Brazil, South Africa, and other locations whilst becoming the longest subsea cable project in the world.
• The investment involves billions of dollars and is set to span across years, in a bid to bring AI access to users all around the world.
• As part of Project Waterworth, more cables are set to be laid at depths of up to 7,000 metres. Measures will be taken to protect cables in high-risk areas where they are more prone to damage.
