Sagarmatha Sambaad

Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change of India, Shri Bhupender Yadav visited Nepal from 15-17 May 2025 to participate in the first edition of “Sagarmatha Sambaad” hosted by the Government of Nepal on 16-18 May 2025, in Kathmandu.

The “Sagarmatha Sambaad” was held on the theme of ‘Climate Change, Mountains and the Future of Humanity’.

The ‘Sagarmatha Sambaad’ is a global dialogue forum established by the Government of Nepal to deliberate on prominent issues of global, regional, and national significance.

The conference adopted the ‘Sagarmatha Call for Action’—a comprehensive and urgent appeal to the international community to address the escalating climate crisis, with an emphasis on the world’s mountain ecosystems. Mount Everest is called Sagarmatha in Nepal.
