Sage Agastya Vehicle Expedition (SAVE)

The Union Ministry of Education has launched the Sage Agastya Vehicle Expedition (SAVE) — a historic car rally under Kashi–Tamil Sangamam 4.0 (KTS 4.0).

  • The rally began on 2 December 2025 from Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu.

Route and Participation

  • The expedition will run for nine days, concluding in Varanasi on 10 December 2025.
  • 15–20 cars with nearly 100 participants are travelling across 2,460 km, symbolising the deep-rooted cultural bond between Tamil Nadu and Kashi.

Cultural Significance

  • The initiative honours Pandiyan ruler Shri Adi Veera Parakrama Pandiyan, who historically journeyed from Tamil Nadu to Kashi carrying the message of cultural unity.
  • During his journey, he established a Lord Shiva temple and named the region Tenkasi (Dakshin Kashi), reflecting the profound connection between the two sacred centres.

Objective of the Expedition

  • To celebrate shared civilisational heritage.
  • To reinforce the ancient spiritual and cultural ties between Tamil civilisation and Kashi.
  • To enhance awareness as part of the KTS 4.0 flagship initiative.
