Samriddh Gram Phygital Services Pilot Project

The Telecom Centres of Excellence (TCoE) has signed agreements with leading implementation partners to roll out the Samriddh Gram Phygital Services Pilot, a landmark initiative aimed at empowering rural India by seamlessly integrating physical and digital services through the BharatNet infrastructure.

About the Samriddh Gram Phygital Services Pilot

  • Phygital Model: Combines on-ground physical presence with robust digital infrastructure to deliver essential services.
  • Objective: Enable rural citizens to access services seamlessly and sustainably, ensuring inclusivity in the digital transformation.
  • Leveraged Infrastructure: BharatNet connectivity serves as the backbone for delivering digital services to villages.

Pilot Villages & Samriddhi Kendras

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has identified three villages for the pilot:

  1. Ari & Umri – Madhya Pradesh
  2. Narakoduru – Andhra Pradesh
  3. Chaurawala – Uttar Pradesh

Each village will host a Samriddhi Kendra, functioning as an integrated digital service hub offering a range of physical and digital services to the rural population.

  • Pioneers a new “phygital” approach to rural service delivery.
  • Bridges the digital divide in rural India.
  • Enhances access to government services, financial services, and digital literacy programs.
